Join Y. Luh, M.D.

Partner, EROC, Eureka

Dr. Join Y. Luh is a board-certified radiation oncologist in private practice at Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka in Eureka, California, and a partner with Eureka Radiation Oncology Consultants (EROC). Since 2007, he has helped bring advanced cancer care to California’s North State—where distance and geography can be barriers, and where precision medicine matters most when it is delivered close to home. For his patients, radiation therapy is never only about technology; it is about time, trust, and the careful work of restoring possibilities.

Dr. Luh’s clinical expertise spans contemporary external beam techniques—3D conformal planning, image-guided and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IGRT/IMRT), stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SRS/SBRT)—as well as multiple brachytherapy modalities. He also brings extensive experience in palliative care and definitive re-irradiation, and added depth in the management of uncommon and selected benign conditions, a skill set that can be especially important in a community setting. Colleagues value his steady focus on safety, thoughtful planning, and clear communication.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Luh is recognized nationally for leadership in organized medicine and for advancing quality, safety, and sustainable access in radiation oncology. He is past president of the Humboldt Del-Norte County Medical Society, the ACR Council of Affiliated Regional Radiation Oncology Societies (CARROS), the Northern California Radiation Oncology Society, and the California Radiological Society. He currently serves on the American College of Radiology (ACR) Board of Chancellors as the American Radium Society representative. As an ACR Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation on-site physician surveyor, he has visited more than 60 practices nationwide, helping teams translate standards into dependable, patient-centered operations. His thought leadership has also been recognized through selection as the 2025 Dr. Luther Brady Memorial Lecturer and as a 2025–2026 Doximity Op-Med Fellow.

Dr. Luh completed residency training in Radiation Oncology at UT Health Science Center San Antonio, where he served as Chief Resident, after internal medicine training at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology and by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In parallel with his community practice, he serves as an Affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University, contributing to physician education and mentorship that connects academic standards to real-world practice.

Dr. Luh brings a unique blend of bedside expertise and system-level insight to Emundi’s mission to support the creation of a new medical school for California’s North State, helping cultivate the next generation of physicians and ensuring that educational excellence is matched by the practical realities of caring for rural and underserved communities.
