Emundi Foundation raises and stewards the resources needed to develop Emundi College of Medicine, including Emundi School of Medicine—a planned independent, nonprofit MD-granting medical school—and its innovation platform for California’s North State.
This is more than the creation of a new school. It is the building of a lasting institution—one designed to grow our own healthcare workforce, expand opportunity for local students, and bring more care, research, and innovation closer to home.
Our “Grow Our Own” strategy begins with pathways from local high schools and colleges toward medical education and careers serving the region.

Emundi: Education World
Our name combines E for education with mundi, Latin for world.
Across California’s North State, physicians and community leaders have come together to help build a long-term answer to one of the region’s deepest challenges: the shortage of physicians and other health professionals. Emundi College of Medicine is being developed as an independent, nonprofit MD-granting institution — locally guided, community-rooted, and designed to begin at a deliberate scale and grow responsibly. Its purpose is not only to strengthen the healthcare workforce, but to help create a durable source of opportunity, innovation, and regional vitality for the North State.
What We Are Building
From the North Sierra to the Pacific North Coast, Emundi Foundation is supporting the development of a distributed, community-rooted academic institution for the North State. At its center are a planned independent, nonprofit MD-granting medical school and an innovation platform designed to strengthen the physician workforce, widen opportunity for local students, and connect the region more fully to research, advanced care, digital health, and the future of medicine.
